Welcome to the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association
The Greater Fort Worth Builders Association (GFWBA) is a non-profit trade association representing hundreds of companies affiliated within the homebuilding industry throughout the Greater Fort Worth region. The Greater Fort Worth Builders Association is one of twenty-eight local associations that make up the Texas Association of Builders (TAB). in addition, we are affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). An active board of directors and volunteer committees, made up of leaders from local builders, trade contractors and businesses associated within the real estate industry, lead the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association in its mission.
Our primary purposes are to provide information exchange, communication and education for members; to interact with local, state and federal legislative bodies to foster a positive building climate; to provide a forum to implement policies that affect the building industry; and to promote professionalism among our members.

Let me begin by informing all of you that we were forced to postpone Municipal Awards Night because our speaker Beth Van Dyne had to cancel too late to engage another speaker. Evidently, the GOP retreat to prepare for the November election cycle was scheduled for the same weekend and she cannot miss it. We plan to rebook for mid-November and will let you know as soon as it is scheduled.
The Winter TAB meetings were held in Austin at a new venue on April 5th-7th. GFWBA was well represented this year with > 14 members attending. We are also playing a significant role in leadership with Don Allen serving as VP -Secretary, Heather Laminack as Chair of PWB, Bill Bettis as the Area 2 Vice President, Rod Vochatzer as Chair of Associates Council, James Rodriguez leadership on the new Energy codes, John Montgomery’s role with Hammer & Nails and GFWBA participation on the various councils. Regarding local elections, we have reached out to several victors with endorsements and checks to solidify relationships as we move forward. We have also provided support to some run-off candidates. A questionnaire was also sent to candidates to determine their positions on the building industry. Several responses were received that impacted our support. During the last month, we have met with …
Gov’t Affairs also met with Lauren Prieur, Assistant Director of TPW. She presented the city’s road infrastructure improvement plans as well as Proposition: $360,218,300 A for Street and Mobility Infrastructure improvements. GFWBA has decided to endorse this Proposition A as it is critical for future residential developments.
The GFWBA Golf Tournament presented by First National Bank Mortgage, held on April 13th brought a lot of wind, sun, and golfers out to play the Texas Star Golf Course. A good time was had by all. We owe a big thanks to our sponsors, the volunteers, our executive staff. Our sponsors included:

Membership is continuing to grow thanks to the hard work of the Membership Chair, Diane Kessler, and her team of helpers. Our new staff person responsible for Membership and Public Relations is also on-board. Come by the office to meet her, Kaitlin Smith.
Finally, the “Find-A-Builder” Initiative is progressing along. We should have a beta test site available in the next 2-3 weeks. Everyone will need to update their information on the website to take full advantage of it. We will be sending out a notification with instructions as well as status as soon as it is available.
