CHILI COOK-OFF RULES

May 20, 2016

  • 1.      Each team is responsible to bring:
  • a.       Chili- we encourage you to cook your chili off site and then bring it in a crockpot. However, Morrison’s full kitchens will be available for you to utilize, so you may heat your chili on one of the provided burners as an alternative.  Be ready to serve by 4:00pm
  • b.      Any condiments you wish to serve alongside the chili (cheese, chopped onions, chips, etc.)
  • c.       Any marketing materials you wish to hand out
  • d.      A list of ingredients used to prepare your chili (just in case someone with a food allergy or sensitivity asks)
  • e.       If you will be using a crockpot, please bring an extension cord.
  • 2.      Set Up/Tear Down
  • a.       Teams can arrive at Morrison as early as 1pm to set up.
  • b.      Each team will be assigned a station.
  • c.       You may use any of Morrison’s kitchen appliances found in your station, such as refrigerators, sinks, stoves & ovens.
  • d.      Each team needs to have chili ready for tastings starting at 4pm.
  • e.       Each team is responsible for cleaning their area upon the event’s conclusion.
  • f.        Bowls, napkins, and spoons will be provided before tasting begins
  • 3.      Awards
  • a.       There will be a panel of judges that will select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
  • b.      There will also be a People’s Choice Award.
  • 4.      Miscellaneous
  • a.       Beverages will be provided on site, courtesy of Fox Energy Specialists
  • b.      We will have live music, courtesy of BMC
  • c.       As time draws near, we will let you know how many folks have registered to attend the event, so you can prepare accordingly.
